Who’s Behind Living Japan, Loving Japan?

Hi there! I’m Yuki.

Welcome to Living Japan, Loving Japan – a blog where I share real-life tips and gentle guidance to help you solve those little everyday puzzles that come with traveling or living in Japan.

Whether you’re visiting for a short time or staying long-term, I hope this blog makes your experience in Japan a little smoother – and a lot more enjoyable.

Who I Am

I was born and raised in Japan by Japanese parents – just your typical local.
Now I live in the Kansai region, about 15 minutes from Osaka, with my wife and our young daughter.

Our daughter goes to an international preschool, and I’m currently learning English myself.
I’m not fluent yet – but maybe that’s exactly why I can better understand feelings like the anxiety of not being able to communicate, or the confusion that comes from cultural differences.

In some ways, I feel I can stand closer to those emotions – and maybe even offer a little comfort through this blog.

Why I Started This Blog

I’ve seen so many moments like these:
Travelers standing still in the middle of the street, staring at a map with worried eyes.
People trying to figure out how to ride the train, looking around in confusion.
Guests sitting nervously at a Japanese restaurant, unsure how to order or what to say.

These little scenes have stayed with me.
Every time I see them, I feel the same thing:
“I want to help.”
“I want them to enjoy Japan more.”

That feeling grew stronger over time.
And eventually, I thought: maybe I can use my experiences, my perspective as a local, and my knowledge of everyday life here –
to share simple, clear, and kind information that helps turn confusion into confidence.

That’s where this blog comes in.

What You’ll Find Here

This isn’t just a tourist blog.
It’s for travelers, people living in Japan, and anyone around the world who’s curious about Japanese life and culture.
I focus on practical tips, local knowledge, and everyday insights – the kind of things guidebooks often skip.

Everything I share comes from the perspective of someone living right here in Kansai.
Think of it as friendly advice from a local – written with care.

Still Learning English – and That’s Okay

Like I mentioned, I’m still learning English.
I can’t speak it fluently yet, but writing this blog helps me connect with people little by little.
If sharing my experiences helps someone out there feel a little more at ease in Japan – that would mean the world to me.
And maybe, through this blog, I’ll make a few new international friends too.

In the End

Living Japan, Loving Japan – this blog name holds a simple wish:
To share the small wonders and challenges of life in Japan with people all over the world.

My English is still a work in progress.
But maybe that’s exactly why I can connect with those who feel a little lost, a little unsure – and offer a kind, real perspective.
If even one person finds clarity, comfort, or curiosity through this blog – then it’s all worth it.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you’ll stick around!
