From Universal City Station to the USJ gate, it is a single straight path, and if you follow the flow of people, you will reach the famous USJ globe in just a few minutes. Along the way, Universal CityWalk is also full of photo spots.
In this guide, we will show you, with the latest photos, the route from the station ticket gates to passing through the USJ entrance gate.
🚉 The closest station to USJ is Universal City Station.
🗺️ The route is simple, and you won’t get lost.
📸 Universal CityWalk has many restaurants and photo spots, so be sure to stop by.
🕒 It’s recommended to arrive about 1 hour to 30 minutes before the park opens.
How to Get to USJ Entrance from Universal City Station
Step 1: Exit Universal City Station
Universal City Station is not very large, so it is unlikely that you will get lost.
The ticket gates are located one floor above the platform. Follow the flow of people.
After passing through the ticket gates, turn left. If you see a Starbucks immediately on your left after leaving the station, you are on the right track.
Step 2: Head Straight into Universal CityWalk Osaka
As soon as you leave the station, you will find yourself on a street called Universal CityWalk Osaka. This street is a straight path all the way to USJ. It is lined with many shops and restaurants, and every time I come here, I can’t help but feel excited.
There are several photo spots in this area, so be sure to take some pictures. They change depending on the season, but as of August 2025, there are several photo spots for the recently released movie Jurassic World: Rebirth of the Earth. Until last month, by the way, they were Donkey Kong-themed photo spots.
Sushiro, which is very popular among international visitors, is also located along this street, so I recommend trying it!
Step 3: Pass Through the Archway
When you pass through Universal CityWalk, you will see the Universal Studios arch. As of August 2025, it is decorated with a “Donkey Kong” theme. This decoration also changes depending on the season.
Step 4: Spot the Rotating USJ Globe
After passing through the arch, you will see USJ Globe slowly rotating on your right. It is a perfect spot for commemorative photos, and many people are taking pictures there.
Step 5: Proceed to the Security Checkpoint
After passing the globe, you will see the security checkpoint on your left.
At USJ, you must undergo a security check, including a baggage inspection, before entering the park.
While waiting for the security check, explanations about the baggage inspection are shown on monitors above. These explanations are provided in multiple languages, including English, so please take a moment to check them.
When it’s your turn, place your bags and any items from your pockets into a basket.
If you’re carrying a drink (like a water bottle or thermos), keep it in your hand.
When it’s your turn, you simply pass through the metal detector.
If you have a filled water bottle or thermos, hold it above your head as you go through.
After passing the metal detector, the staff will ask to check the contents of your water bottle or thermos, so open it and let them inspect it.
If everything is fine, you’re all set to go!
Step 6: Walk to the Main Entry Gate and Enter the Park
Once you finish the security check, you’re almost at the entrance! There will be a line waiting to enter at the main entrance, so please get in line.
When it’s your turn, scan your ticket at the entrance gate to enter the park.
Enjoy your adventure at USJ!
